Fresh, Illustration Friday.

I was inspired to paint these fresh flowers by the wonderful Shelagh (you'll have to scroll down to see the picture)--I hope she doesn't mind I used her photo as inspiration. The photo is part of a calendar she has put together to raise funds for Katrina. Paris is springtime...what a nice thought!

"Celebrate", Emotions Collection, Kelly Gibbons, 2005

I just wrote a wonderful (dripping with sarcasm) post (the first one I have been inspired to write, in, oh forever!), and Blogger ate it. AHHHHH! I guess you'll have to wait until I have time (again!) to read the updates in my life. Humpf!

"Disaster Relief"

I don't know what to say. What can you say? People need help. Help anyway you can.

Modest Needs

I debated putting this banner up again. I originally used it after the Tsunami in December 2004, without success. I felt bad because I did not earn any money to send the victims. And, truthfully, I also felt bad because I didn't sell any, not one. That went through my head when I thought about putting it up again. What's the point? I'm not going to sell any anyway, so why bother. Why bother? Because people need help. If I sell some, great, if I don't great too--I tried. It is always a good thing to try to do something (even if it is not successful). And, I also thought, even if I don't actually earn any money to send, maybe, just by posting this here reminded someone to donate. That too, is a great thing. Every little bit helps. Every little thing we do in a positive way is a step forward. So, that is why I decided to post it again. I chose art, because that is what I can do. I am not a doctor, nurse, or wealthy person. I can not donate as much as I would like (I just don't have it). I can not go to the Mississippi or Louisiana to help--I am not in a position to right now. My gift is art, and if I can use it to help, that's what I must do.

I donated the original painting at an art fair I recently participated in(Arts on the Edge). I chanced it off and earned $53. My initial reaction was, "That's it. Only $53." Then I realized that is a great starting point. It is only the beginning. I can and will do more.

Home: Dallas, Pennsylvania, United States
About Me: On July 24, 2012 my happily ever after was forever altered when my beautiful 22 year old daughter, Kelci, lost her life in a car accident. Life as I knew it ceased to exist, and now I'm faced with learning how to live again without her here. This is my Kelci Ever After.
